The first result of the program is the refitting of the MY Mazal in collaboration with VZ Yacht
Turin, 31 may 2021 – Pininfarina Nautical, the division dedicated to nautical design, launches its refitting program at the Venice Boat Show, a specific program dedicated exclusively to refitting projects for vintage boats and designed for owners interested in customizing tenders, yachts and mega yacht with a rich history to tell.
The first result of the program stems from the collaboration with VZ Yacht on the refitting of the MY MAZAL (Benetti 28m model built in 1977), of which the first drawings of the project are presented at the Venice Boat Show.
The goal was, from the beginning, to provide a new look to the glorious MY MAZAL, both internally and externally, starting however from the experience of use, renewing it and bringing it to the standards of the most comfortable contemporary yachts.
On the exteriors, the Pininfarina team worked on the deck and superstructures, renovating the layout of the bow, stern and flybrigde areas, transforming the stern into a welcoming multifunctional area. The flybrige layout has been redefined to accommodate a large solarium area, bar & barbeque and sheds for 2 water toys. The hard top was also equipped with solar panels with the aim of providing clean energy for consumption on board.
As for the interiors, Pininfarina, maintaining and emphasizing the original style of the boat, has redesigned the arrangement of the furnishings, proposing a new combination of colors, materials and finishes that would give the interior spaces a contemporary and prestigious feel. The lounge has been enlarged creating a direct link with the external environment thanks to the use of sofas that connect the two spaces.
The project of the MY MAZAL by VZ Yacht with the design of Pininfarina is proof of how the refitting program allows to make the experience on board contemporary, giving new life to the glorious yachts of the past, always respecting their construction characteristics. In short, a program designed to create value for shipowners.
