Bonds Flying Roos SailGP Team strengthened its grip on the 2026 Rolex SailGP Championship with a commanding victory at the Bermuda Sail Grand Prix, delivering back-to-back event wins and further cementing its position as the team to beat this season.

Led by Tom Slingsby, the Australian crew produced a clinical performance on Bermuda’s Great Sound, defeating Los Gallos SailGP Team and Germany SailGP Team presented by Deutsche Bank in a tense three-boat final.
Raced in lighter and highly tactical conditions, the Australians controlled the final from the start, executing flawless manoeuvres and maintaining composure under pressure. The win marks their third event title of the 2026 season and extends their overall championship lead to 10 points heading into New York.

“We were jelling as a team and everything clicked this weekend,” said Slingsby following the victory. “We’ve got a really strong dynamic right now, and we’re excited to keep building momentum.”
Spain’s Los Gallos team, helmed by Diego Botín, once again emerged as Australia’s closest rival. The Spanish crew showcased exceptional speed throughout the weekend, securing a dominant fleet race victory on Championship Sunday before narrowly missing out in the final after a costly mid-race foil drop.
Meanwhile, Germany delivered one of its strongest SailGP performances to date. Under the leadership of Erik Heil, the German team secured its first final appearance of the season, highlighting the growing competitiveness across the fleet.
The Bermuda event also demonstrated the increasing depth of SailGP, with standout performances from teams including France SailGP Team, United States SailGP Team and ROCKWOOL Racing.

As the championship now heads to New York City, Australia’s Bonds Flying Roos continue to establish themselves as the benchmark of the 2026 season—combining consistency, precision and championship-winning composure at exactly the right time.
