It is with profound sadness that the Nautic Magazine team has learned of the passing of Charlie Dalin, one of the most remarkable sailors of his generation and winner of the 10th edition of the Vendée Globe.

Charlie Dalin will forever be remembered for his extraordinary achievement in January 2025, when he completed the iconic solo round-the-world race in a record-breaking 64 days, 19 hours and 22 minutes. His exceptional performance, leadership throughout much of the race, and unwavering determination secured his place among the legends of offshore sailing.
Beyond his sporting achievements, Charlie was admired for his professionalism, humility, passion, and dedication to the sport. His accomplishments inspired sailors and sailing enthusiasts around the world, while his relentless pursuit of excellence helped elevate ocean racing to new heights.
Today, the global sailing community has lost not only a champion but also a true ambassador for the sport. His legacy will continue to inspire future generations of sailors who dream of pushing beyond the horizon.
