From 8–11 July 2026, the waters of Barcelona will once again become the center of the international classic sailing world as the prestigious Puig Vela Clàssica Barcelona returns for its 19th edition.
Organized by Puig in partnership with the Real Club Náutico de Barcelona, the regatta has established itself as one of the Mediterranean’s premier classic sailing events, bringing together heritage, competition, and maritime elegance.
More than 40 classic and vintage yachts from across Europe and beyond have already confirmed their participation, creating one of the most diverse and competitive fleets in recent years. The event will feature Vintage, Classic, Big Boat, and Modern Classic categories, showcasing over a century of yacht design and craftsmanship.
Among the standout entries are the legendary Bermudian ketch Eilean, the historic Manitou—famous for its connection to the Kennedy family—as well as renowned competitors such as Viveka and Halloween. Historic yachts including Dione and Adventuress further enrich an exceptional fleet that combines maritime heritage with high-level competition.
Spain will once again be strongly represented by yachts such as Phidias, Yanira, Bakea, Kahurangi and Islander, highlighting the continued strength of the country’s classic sailing community.
The event begins on 8 July with registration and a welcome reception, while racing will take place from 9–11 July with up to two races scheduled each day. The regatta will conclude with the official prize-giving ceremony on the final evening.
Beyond the racing, the Puig Vela Clàssica remains one of Barcelona’s most attractive maritime spectacles. Spectators will be able to enjoy the action from iconic waterfront locations including Barceloneta, Port Vell and Port Olímpic.
As part of the official calendar of the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation and counting towards both the Mediterranean International Championship and the Mare Nostrum Trophy, the 2026 edition promises to deliver another unforgettable celebration of classic sailing in one of the Mediterranean’s most vibrant yachting destinations.
