The 19th Puig Vela Clàssica Barcelona has concluded after four memorable days of racing, bringing together more than 45 classic and vintage yachts from over a dozen countries and nearly 400 sailors in one of the Mediterranean’s premier celebrations of historic sailing.
With challenging wind conditions and a technical final race on Barcelona’s coastline, the regatta once again showcased some of the world’s finest classic yachts, combining fierce competition with the timeless elegance of traditional sailing.
Hallowe’en Returns to Winning Ways
One of the standout stories of this year’s event was the victory of the legendary Hallowe’en in the Big Boats division. The iconic yacht, originally launched in 1926, produced an outstanding final performance to overturn the leaderboard and secure overall victory exactly a century after dominating international regattas during the Golden Age of yachting.
Her triumph highlights the remarkable competitiveness of these meticulously restored classics, proving that exceptional craftsmanship and expert seamanship continue to stand the test of time.

The 2026 edition crowned champions across eight competitive classes:
- Big Boats: Hallowe’en

- Classic IOR: Odysseus
- Modern Classics: Legolas

- Bermudian 1: Varuna VII
- Bermudian 2: Ándale
Each fleet delivered close racing, with several overall titles decided only during the final miles of competition.
Barcelona Once Again Becomes the Capital of Classic Sailing
Although the opening day was postponed due to light winds, favorable Levante breezes returned for the remaining races, producing spectacular sailing conditions. Crews navigated technical seas with swells of up to 1.5 metres across a demanding 13.28-nautical-mile course that tested both strategy and precision.
The event once again confirmed Barcelona’s position as one of Europe’s leading destinations for classic yachting, attracting owners, sailors and enthusiasts from around the world while celebrating the preservation of maritime heritage.
