Distinct, Refined and Essential: these are the pillars of the owner’s way of thinking, a philosophy he coined “Nordic Cool” and that will pervade his yacht in every single detail.
A keen sailor since he was a teenager, the owner of this new 105’ footer, is complementing his love for the sea with a new yacht. Nordic Cool is conceived to ensure sheer sailing pleasure and reliability without compromising on the comfort he is used to on his motor yacht.
“I’m looking for a high-performance bluewater yacht for fast and comfortable sailing”. This is the brief presented by the owner of SW105#05 when approaching SWS for the first time and Nordic Cool will tick all of these boxes.
The SW105#05 comes from the solid collaboration between Southern Wind, Nauta Design and Farr Yacht Design, who worked closely with the client to customize the latest SW105 and match his taste and specific requirements.

Her twin rudder configuration and increased sail area, combined with a telescopic keel (3.65m- 5.6m), provide extra righting moment without compromising the interior volumes or arrangement.
Nordic Cool will be constructed with a full carbon hull, deck and bulkheads. Weight control has been a high priority with major savings gained by the selection of synthetic teak deck, titanium stanchions, pulpits, cleats and fairleads. All helping to achieve the objective of building a 69500 kg yacht that can sail in lighter wind conditions, with a reduced dependency on the engine.
Similar to her reputable SW105 sisterships Wolfhound and Kiboko Tres, SW105#05 will feature a Raised Saloon (RS) configuration allowing natural light to flood into the interior. The coach roof design and geometries were slightly modified and softened to give Nordic Cool a sporty and elegant appearance.
A tender garage and optimized lazarettes are designed to accommodate a 4.6m jet tender plus sea kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, diving tanks and many more exhilarating toys including a pair of road bikes.

SW105#05 interior will feature the typical SWS owner’s cabin forward layout with three well-appointed en-suite guest cabins amidships. The aft crew area is an efficient living and working environment for up to six crew in three cabins.
“Nordic Cool” will be the style of the interior, a design the owner found well interpreted on board SW96 Seatius and widely esteemed at the Boat International Design and Innovation Awards. SW105#05 will entrust the same team that made Seatius success, with Nauta Design acting as interior designer with the help of Jeroen Machielsen from the Dutch Studio Hermanides for the decoration.
Built in compliance with RINA charter class regulation, Nordic Cool will join the prestigious fleet of SWS yachts available for charter.
Currently under lamination, SW105#05 will be delivered in early 2022 and we are really looking forward to seeing another superb yacht joining the Southern Wind fleet around the world.
