The Swiss Alinghi Red Bull Racing is emerging as one of the main contenders to challenge the current Defender, the ‘Emirates Team New Zealand’, in the Match Final of the competition starting in September.

The first step towards achieving this has been the arrival in Barcelona of the boat with which it will compete in the Louis Vuitton Cup, the challengers’ regatta. The AC75 Alinghi Red Bull Boat One is already at the Swiss team’s base, where it is being assembled to be presented this spring.

The AC75 arrived in Barcelona from Switzerland, where it was built, as all boats must be manufactured in their country of origin. To the base, located in the Maremágnum, it arrived on a huge barge and completely packaged, following the norms and tradition of the America’s Cup, not to reveal the boat more than strictly necessary.

In the coming weeks, the rest of the hulls will be arriving at each of the ‘houses’ of each team, located in different points of the port of Barcelona.
