The Mubadala Brazil SailGP Team has suffered a major setback just days before the Germany Sail Grand Prix, after a disastrous crash left their F50 catamaran severely damaged.

During a high-speed training session, the team lost control in challenging wind conditions, resulting in a violent nosedive that caused extensive structural damage to the foils and wing. While no crew members were injured, the incident has thrown their participation in Kiel into serious doubt.

Team officials are now working around the clock with SailGP’s technical team to assess whether the boat can be repaired in time. “We’ll do everything possible to be on the start line in Germany,” said driver, “but safety and the integrity of the boat come first.”

The crash comes at a critical moment in the season, with the Brazil team aiming to climb the leaderboard. If repairs are delayed, it could have significant consequences for their championship hopes.
