In a dramatic and carefully executed operation early this morning (21 June), the 56-metre sailing yacht Bayesian was successfully lifted from the seabed by salvage cranes, marking a critical moment in the recovery of one of the world’s most high-profile superyacht incidents.
TMC Marine, the firm leading the operation, confirmed that the Perini Navi yacht will remain suspended above the water for inspections before being moved ashore. A custom-built steel cradle awaits her, with the final phase of the operation scheduled for Monday, 23 June.
Marcus Cave, director of TMC Marine, called the lift “complex and precise,” noting the team’s commitment to safety and environmental protection. “That care will continue as Bayesian is transported into port,” he added.
The successful raising of Bayesian brings renewed focus to the investigation into her sinking and marks a major step toward uncovering what led to the tragic incident.
