E1 Series returns this weekend to Jeddah as Electric Powerboat Racing takes the Red Sea

The UIM E1 World Championship, the world’s first all-electric powerboat racing series, is set to return to Jeddah, bringing high-performance racing and cutting-edge marine innovation back to the Red Sea. The event will once again position Saudi Arabia at the forefront of sustainable watersports and next-generation motorsport.

Racing takes place aboard the RaceBird, a fully electric foiling powerboat designed for close, high-speed competition in coastal environments. The series combines advanced electric propulsion with lightweight design and foiling technology, delivering thrilling on-water action while promoting a cleaner future for marine mobility.

Jeddah’s waterfront provides a dramatic backdrop for the championship, reflecting the city’s growing role as a hub for international sporting events and maritime development. The E1 Series aligns closely with the Kingdom’s broader ambitions to advance sustainability, innovation and ocean stewardship through sport.

Featuring teams backed by global figures from sport, entertainment and business, the championship has quickly established itself as one of the most exciting new formats in motorsport. Tight circuits, short races and unpredictable conditions ensure intense competition from start to finish.

As electric technologies continue to reshape the marine industry, the return of the E1 Series to Jeddah highlights the Red Sea’s emergence as a proving ground for the future of high-performance, zero-emission racing on water.
