Born in 1995 in Cagliari, Gianmarco Cardia always liked drawing boats, cars and any other vehicle.
During his architecture studies young yacht designer, Gianmarco Cardia, never neglected boat and yacht design, even better he has increased his interest in this field that now represents his biggest passion. In 2018 he was selected as one of the 6 finalists of Boat International “Young Designer Of the Year award” in the student category with the concept of a 60m explorer yacht named Sestante.
Vela is an 80m S/Y with two DynaRig masts, that charachterise the exterior of the boat, which has been designed with the idea of keeping everything simple and clean, with smooth and sleek lines to achieve the intent of creating a body that seems moulded by the wind.

A big attention has been put while designing the general arrangement of both interior and exterior spaces, that are directly connected thanks to glazed sliding doors to enhance the contact with the environment. One of the key features is the open-air cinema projected on the sail, situated on the sundeck.
