Presented during the latest Monaco Yacht Show, the 86m/282ft M/Y Starlight is to date the main custom project designed by the French studio Darnet Design and is currently for sale through international top brokers.
Based in the beautiful town of Nantes in France, Darnet Design has designed over the last twentytwo years nearly 2500 interiors of yachts sailing around the globe, in collaboration with world leading production boat builders, such as Groupe Beneteau, Privilège Marine, Allures Yachting, Outremer Yachting, to name a few.
In the superyacht segment of our market, Franck Darnet, an avid sea lover who merged his passion for sailing with the love of design, has created with his team several projects and the interior design of a few 45-metre yachts, “Africa” in 2010 and “Atomic” in 2014 built by the Turkish shipyard Sunrise. The French studio has also designed the interior of the 64-metre VSY “Atomic”, under completion in Italy, whose exterior styling is by Espen Oeino.
Both the exterior and interior design of the new 86m/282ft Starlight are penned by Darnet Design. Conceived and designed for extensive cruising in all sea conditions, this six-deck superyacht features a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, meeting the Lloyd’s classification requirements, and provides the very latest comforts and technologies for her guests and crew.
Key features include one of the biggest beach clubs on the market exceeding 100m2/1,076ft2, with two underwater observatories; a touch and go helicopter landing pad; a 17m2/183ft2 swimming pool on the aft main deck and a large atrium with a unique moving platform in the main and upper
salons.
The tender garage located between the engine room and the beach club can accommodate two luxury tenders measuring respectively 10m/33ft and 8m/26ft, up to three jet skis and additional water toys.
Powered by two 3,140 hp engines, Starlight can reach a cruising speed of 16 knots while top speed is 19 knots. Her vast exterior areas are conceived as very comfortable outdoor living spaces, making the most of the broad beam, with several sun-drenched or shaded lounge, seating and dining areas across the decks.
On the aft lower deck a big comfortable external salon increases the enjoyment of the beach club to create a great and multifunctional area exceeding 100 square metres (1,076 ft2).
The glass-sided swimming pool has been designed on the main deck aft overlooking the beach club below and is next to a huge outdoor salon on the other side. The bridge deck offers endless possibilities for enjoyment and relaxation, unwinding in the circular Jacuzzi or soaking in the sun on the broad sunbed area covering the stern. The sun deck is perfectly set up for al fresco lounging and seating with a massive raised forward sunbed and several L-shaped sofas and coffee tables.
The owner’s foredeck boasts a sheltered alfresco private terrace for lounging or informal dining and a spa pool. From here the owner has direct access to the helipad and to a unique love nest integrated in the bow featuring a privileged panoramic window forward. Inside, this 2,200 GT floating wonder offers luxury and comfortable accommodation for 14 guests in six guest’s cabins on the main deck and the owner’s stateroom on the dedicated deck above.86M STARLIGHT – Main salon
The bespoke interiors are the quintessence of a timeless elegance fused with contemporary style, where Darnet Design has combined design, light and refinement to create inspiring luxury clean spaces. The spacious design of the main salon includes a breathtaking social area with abundant natural light and extensive open spaces. Ideal for family and social gatherings this multipurpose area offers the utmost comfort and relaxation.
Stretching the full height of two floors, LCD wall screens decorate the large atrium, where the formal dining area and main salon are on the bottom deck and the upper salon on the above owner’s deck. A forward thinking approach has been applied to design both the atrium and upper salon, showcasing a unique moving platform never seen on a yacht before and exclusively conceived and designed by Darnet Design. The custom Darnet Platform allows the upper salon to become a multipurpose area offering maximum versatility to owner and guests with different configurations.
In particular, the lounge layout shows an open atrium. While in the other two versions, respectively entertainment and cinema, the atrium is closed between the two floors and the platform moved into place in the upper salon provides an entertainment area with a stage for a grand piano or for enjoying movies from the big LCD wall screen.
Throughout the yacht interior it is a feast for the eyes with a predominance of white with gold decorated panels, beautiful contemporary finishes in silvery shades, bespoke elegant pieces and exquisite materials and fabrics. All flooded with natural light and with a breathtaking overview on the sea.86M STARLIGHT – Main salon
