The best superyachts to see during the Monaco Grand Prix 2022

When it comes to sumptuous yacht hospitality, it doesn’t get much better than being on deck of a Super Yacht in Monte Carlo with a glass of Champagne while watching the most famous race in the world.

Heralding the unofficial start of the Mediterranean yachting season, the Monaco Grand Prix brings roaring races, A-lister events and a swell of superyacht titans to the principality each year. The event is one of just two Formula One fixtures on the calendar that can be watched from on board as the yachts moor stern to the track in Port Hercules. Whether you are watching from the sun deck with a glass of rosé in hand or from the comfort of home, keep an eye out for the following yachts in port for the weekend…

Man of Steel | 86m

Oceanco’s Man of Steel (ex Seven Seas) has secured a star seat to soak up the trackside action in Port Hercules, right in the heart of the buzz.  Guests will be able to enjoy the races from the main deck, with its swimming pool and line of sun loungers, or one of the upper decks, where there is a jacuzzi and lounge area. After making headlines as the second-most expensive yacht sale of 2021, this is the first high-profile yachting event that Man of Steel is attending since her change of ownership.

Coral Ocean | 72.5m

Fresh from an extensive refit, Coral Ocean is also right in the thick of the F1 action. The Lürrsen-built yacht left her refit facilities Palma earlier in the month and the Monaco Grand Prix is her first opportunity to show off her new look, which centres around a change of hull colour, new interiors and a modification on the upper deck. With original design from Jon Bannenberg, the 1994-built yacht is an icon of the yachting world and her fresh appearance is sure to be a big talking point in Monaco.

Grace | 81m

Originally launched as Kibo in 2014, Abeking & Rasmussen’s Grace is a regular fixture around Monaco, and she’ll be berthed inside Port Hercules for the duration of the F1 Monaco Grand Prix. The yacht’s cascading aft decks offer stacks of space to watch the cars tear around the circuit, and a long list of amenities promises plenty of ways to relax after the Formula One buzz wears off. Grace is pictured above, third from the right.

The Wellesley | 56m

Oceanco’s 56 metre The Wellesley is one of the largest charter yachts on the scene for the Monaco Yacht Grand Prix. Listed for charter with TWW Yachts, her interiors follow an elegant, hotel-style theme and she has a number of crowd-pleasing features including a cigar room and waterfall-fed jacuzzi. Below Deck Mediterranean fans may know her better by her alias, The Wellington, which was her moniker when she appeared on the hit Bravo show for season 5.

Katina | 60m

Another yacht that’s fresh from a refit and showing off her new look at the Grand Prix is Katina, a 2015 build from Croatian yard Brodosplit. A charter favourite for many years, this yacht for sale is packed with fun features and features a huge toy box which her guests can take full advantage of after the races wind down. She accommodates up to 12 guests in six cabins and is home to fully-equipped gym and a dedicated massage room.

Robbie Bobby | 33m

Tucked right into the sharp turn where the circuit wraps around the harbour, Robbie Bobby has a prime spot for her guests to watch the Formula One action unfold. The motor yacht was launched by Dutch yard Lynx in 2013, and she is crowned by a generous sundeck where her guests will have panoramic views across the race circuit and the lively port. To make arrivals in and out of Monaco even easier, the yacht has a conveniently situated tender garage for smooth transfers.

Sirocco | 47m

Berthed just in front of the Nouvelle Chicane, Heesen’s Sirocco boasts great seats to watch the Monaco Grand Prix. She is another popular charter yacht that starred in Below Deck and she is well-loved for her exotic interior, which uses a blend of woods and natural materials. An eight-person jacuzzi offers a prime vantage point over the  racetrack, and there’s also a multi-media room on the interior where guests can enjoy the Formula One in a more serene setting.

DB9 | 52m

Catching plenty of attention in Port Hercule, Palmer Johnson’s gold-hulled DB9 is the perfect yacht for entertaining over the Formula One weekend. She’s primed for hosting Monaco Grand Prix yacht charters, with three pools, an integrated speaker system and an expansive sundeck that promises an immersive experience from one of the best seats in the house – right in front of Quai-des-États-Unis. With her sharp, sporty look and supercar-inspired name, DB9 is completely at home at the F1.

Secret and Cloud 9 off Monaco

Secret | 82m

One of the yachts bringing the at-anchor action is Secret, a 2013 build from Abeking & Rasmussen. Her Sam Sorgiovanni exteriors make her instantly recognizable off the Monegasque coast, and as a superyacht for sale she’s sure to be catching the attention of prospective buyers.

Lionheart is one of the biggest superyachts in Port Hercules for the Monaco Grand Prix

Cloud 9 | 89m

Cloud 9 marks one of the largest yacht sales of 2022 so far, and this is her first high-profile appearance under her new name. When she was known as Infinity, the Oceanco build was notoriously private – now it seems she’s spending a little more time in the limelight. She is listed for charter with Burgess and comes complete with expansive lounging spaces, a decadent beauty saloon and a main deck pool that measures almost 18 metres squared.

Lionheart | 90m

In 2016, Lionheart was launched by Benetti as the Italian shipyard’s new flagship and is the owner’s third Benetti to bear the same name. The 90-metre motor yacht is no stranger to Monte Carlo, spending most of her time cruising the French and Italian Riviera from her home base in Port Hercules. Lionheart has remained secretive in the five years since her launch and is currently berthed at the end of Quai Rainier.

Tatoosh looking as imposing as ever

Tatoosh | 92m

Tatoosh joined the sales fleet in 2021 to much excitement, and is currently one of the most recognizable yachts around the waters of Monaco. She was delivered in 2000 by German yard Nobiskrug and is packed from bow to stern with cool amenities, including a waterfront dive center and contraflow swimming pool with a floor that can be raised flush to the deck when drained. Interestingly, she is also fitted with bulletproof glass windows.
