Interiors of 67m Heesen superyacht Sparta revealed

Heesen has offered a first look inside its 67-metre superyacht Sparta in anticipation of her delivery. Sparta is the shipyard’s largest steel construction to date.

Both Sparta’s interiors and exterior are owed to Winch Design. The British studio has opted for a sporty, low-profile exterior, featuring a reverse bow and a mix of “Venetian red” and metallic grey accents. Meanwhile, the interior sees each deck themed in rising elements of earth, water and air to an owner’s brief of “playfulness, activities and surprise”. A deeper dive into Sparta‘s interiors, with a full range of imagery.

Refuting the high-gloss finishes seen on other yachts, her interior colour scheme is suffused by light timbers, bronze accents and almond golds. The result is a contemporary, welcoming and fluid yacht unified by her elemental theme. As well as embracing the different elements, the yacht also follows themes of togetherness and family living, with an open-plan layout that aims to accommodate this.

Sparta‘s layout revolves around a pair of owner’s suites situated on the bridge deck with access to a dining and al fresco area. There are a further four cabins on the main deck for a total of 12 guests (plus two) and 15 crew. Representing the air element is the 56-square-metre master cabin aft, with a sky-blue palette, mother-of-pearl inlays and an abstract patterned carpet crafted by Tai Ping. The private owners’ deck aft is accessed by sliding doors

By contrast, the upper deck forward owners’ cabin is more spacious at 62 square metres and is abundant with light thanks to full-length windows. Winch Design inlaid a representation of the solar system into the metallic headboard, encouraging parents and children to “run their fingers over the cosmos”. On the private owners’ deck, guests can stargaze or benefit from the outdoor cinema screen placed on the foredeck.

The earth-themed main saloon features dining chairs upholstered in real palm leaf, while the coffee table is made from parts of stained oak with a green, leaf-shaped marble top complete with a leather finish. Also on the main deck are two VIP cabins, marine-themed with wave-like carpets and featuring an island woven into its centre. There is also an aqua-blue tramazite installation above the beds, meant to “recall sunken sapphires or a watery moon”. With family living in mind, the cabins are also separated by a moveable partition that can be opened for playtime, or left up overnight to create one huge bedroom.

Unifying the elements theme is the oak staircase designed by Alex Hull. Alternatively, guests can make use of the glass elevator from the lower deck to the owners’ deck

Another key theme of the yacht is wellness, and Sparta benefits from a 65-square-metre spa on the lower deck that is home to an elliptical whirlpool, steam room, sauna, gym and beauty area. Here, natural materials evoke the water element.

Further highlights on the 1,200GT yacht include a custom Winch-designed Tenderworks limo tender that echoes the lines of the mothership, which is stored behind the gullwing doors of the forward garage. Key numbers include top speeds of 16 knots and a range of 4,500 nautical miles at 12 knots.

Arcon Yachts has acted as project manager for Sparta, working on behalf of the owner who was captured by Heesen’s 66-metre Project Avanti concept, which was first presented at the Monaco Yacht Show 2018.

Richard Kaye of Arcon Yachts said: “This is the fifth project we have built with Heesen, and the mutual trust that has grown between us is particularly gratifying. We know our input is valued, and we hold the expertise of this Dutch shipyard and the unrivalled quality it delivers in the highest esteem.”

Sparta is currently listed for sale with Arcon Yachts and is asking €99,000,000.
