Team Nika wins the Calero Marinas and becomes the first leader of the 44Cup

Team Nika takes Calero Marinas and leads the 44Cup for the first time. This Sunday marked the closing of the first race of the circuit in the waters of Lanzarote. The final day was marked by 17-knot winds. Aleph Racing led in the first lap after rounding the windward mark, located a few meters from the Puerto Calero dock, closely followed by Team Nika, Artemis Racing, and Calero Marinas. At the completion of the first lap, Aleph Racing maintained the lead, albeit with a small advantage over Team Nika, Artemis Racing, and Team Aqua, who were close behind the French team.

In the last passage through the windward mark, Team Aqua managed to take the lead, opening up a gap with their closest competitors: Aleph Racing, Artemis Racing, and Team Nika. Finally, Team Aqua skillfully managed their lead and crossed the finish line in first place, followed by Artemis Racing, who engaged in an exciting battle with Black Star, crossing the finish line 8 seconds later, securing third place.

At 12:00 hours, the eighth leg of the 44Cup Calero Marinas began, with a flawless start that once again highlighted the skill of the crews in the opening meters, providing impressive images of both the fleet and the picturesque coastal line of the island. Charisma led in the first lap after rounding the windward mark, closely followed by Team Nika, Team Ceeref Vaider, and Aleph Racing. The competition was intense, with multiple changes in position throughout the race.

Charisma maintained its leading position after completing the first lap of the racecourse, followed by Peninsula Racing, Team Ceeref Vaider, and Aleph Racing. However, Team Aqua demonstrated exceptional navigation by taking the lead after the final rounding at the windward mark, followed closely by Aleph Racing and Black Star. Team Aqua and Aleph Racing maintained their positions, crossing the finish line in first and second place respectively, while Team Ceeref finished in third place in this thrilling eighth race.

After a close start, Peninsula Racing took the lead in the first rounding at the windward mark, followed by Team Nika, Charisma, and Artemis Racing.

It was Team Nika who led after completing the first lap, with Peninsula Racing, Artemis Racing, and Team Aqua close behind. In the last rounding at the windward mark, Team Nika maintained its leading position, closely followed by Peninsula Racing and Aleph Racing in second and third place respectively.

Team Nika took full advantage of the conditions in the final part of the race and crossed the finish line in first place, while the fight for the podium in this last leg was closely contested. Finally, within a gap of just 10 seconds, they finished in the following order: Peninsula Racing, Aleph Racing, Team Aqua, Team Ceeref, and Charisma. Black Star and Artemis Racing lagged behind, while Calero Sailing Team withdrew from this last race.

With the results obtained in the last leg of the 44Cup Calero Marinas, Team Nika (26) consolidates its position as the leader of the season, followed by Team Ceeref Vaider (34), Peninsula Racing (35), Team Aqua (39), Aleph Racing (41), Charisma (46), Black Star Sailing Team (56), Artemis Racing (59), and Calero Sailing Team (72).
