The Swan 42 Pez de Abril wins the 28th TabarcaVela-Diputación de Alicante

The 28th TabarcaVela-Diputación de Alicante event celebrated a new edition full of action and excitement, crowning the champions after a regatta that was decided in the last race in practically all categories.

In the ORC 1 class, the Pez de Abril boat (CN Villa de San Pedro), led by José María Meseguer, emerged victorious after a close duel with the Seabery-MarAmigo (RCMT Punta Umbría) of Basilio Marquínez and Nacho Zalvide. After a start in which the Andalusians were in the lead, the Murcian boat demonstrated its mastery and prevailed in the last two races to secure the triumph. The Trabuco (RCN Torrevieja) of Francisco Martínez completed the podium.

In the ORC 2 class, the Ebury Sailing Team (Liga Naval de Alborán), skippered by Julio Bernardeau, was the absolute master of the competition, winning five out of the six races. The Proalviento (RCN Castellón) of Eduardo Maestre and the Escuela Taboga (RCN Cádiz) of Emilio Guzmán completed the podium.

In ORC 3, the Falapouco (RCN Torrevieja) of Andrés Manresa prevailed over the defending champion Tanit IV-Medilevel (RCR Alicante) of María José Vila and Nacho Campos, who finished second. The Peneque Pro of Rafael García completed the top 3.

In ORC 4, the Enewtec Ingeniería (CN La Isleta) managed to surpass the then-leader, the Pinto Tercero (RCR Cartagena) of Eugenio Martínez, who finished second. The Dax (RCR Alicante) of Sergio Durá closed the podium.

The Go Out Consulting for MarAmigo

In the Go Out Consulting women’s class, the MarAmigo Sailing Team (RCMT Punta Umbría), skippered by Marta Castillo, prevailed over the Chicas MAD (RCN Madrid) of Elena Raga after a spectacular final day. The Dorsia Sailing Team (RCR Alicante) of Núria Sánchez Nomdedeu completed the podium.

In the Dragon class, the Plis Play V (RCR Alicante) of Vicente García, Nano Negrín and Nuno Barreto put on a true monologue, winning all the races.

The awards ceremony was attended by local and regional authorities, such as Miguel López Barbero, president of the RCRA; José Antonio Bermejo, deputy of the Diputación de Alicante; Toni Gallego, councilor of sports of the Alicante City Council; Carlos Torrado, president of the Sailing Federation of the Valencian Community; and Núria Sánchez Nomdedeu, director of TabarcaVela.
