Sanlorenzo Launches the SD132: A Masterpiece of Semi-Displacement Design

Sanlorenzo has officially unveiled the SD132, the new flagship of its prestigious semi-displacement yacht series. At 40.7 meters in length and boasting 420 gross tons, the SD132 is not only the largest yacht ever built in composite by the shipyard but also the most ambitious vessel in its iconic semi-displacement line.

With a design that pushes boundaries and redefines onboard luxury, the SD132 reflects the essence of Sanlorenzo’s heritage while introducing groundbreaking innovations.

Unprecedented Volumes and Seamless Sea Connection

A defining feature of the SD132 is its remarkable 420 gross tons—an industry benchmark for a yacht of its size. This impressive volume has been masterfully utilized to create expansive, flowing spaces that harmoniously connect guests with the sea.

One standout innovation is the transformative beach area, where lateral terraces rotate and open to provide a vast 70 square meters of space, seamlessly extending the aft cockpit and eliminating visual barriers. This design ensures guests experience an unparalleled connection to the surrounding waters.

Complementing this is the 85-square-meter fly deck, crowned by a forward-facing mini pool equipped with a sunbathing system, enhancing the yacht’s relaxation and leisure areas.

Asymmetric Design: A Game-Changer in Space Optimization

Continuing Sanlorenzo’s pioneering work in asymmetry, the SD132 incorporates a unique deck layout that optimizes interior and exterior volumes. By positioning the main deck walkway on the port side and the upper deck walkway on the starboard side, the yacht achieves better weight distribution and maximized living spaces.

The interiors, crafted in collaboration with Zuccon International Project, exude natural elegance. The main deck houses a 55-square-meter owner’s suite, along with a spacious salon framed by expansive windows. The lower deck accommodates four guest cabins and a well-equipped crew area, ensuring privacy and comfort.

A Commitment to Sustainability and Sensory Design

The SD132’s interiors draw inspiration from the natural world, with earth-toned materials and textures that emphasize sensory engagement. Sustainable choices, such as dark and light wood combinations and fabric selections, enhance the yacht’s eco-conscious profile while maintaining luxurious aesthetics.

Bernardo Zuccon of Zuccon International Project elaborates:
“Our vision for the SD132 was to create a yacht that fosters a profound connection between the owner and their environment. By integrating natural tones and innovative layouts, we have designed a vessel that feels both modern and timeless.”

Versatility and Extended Range Capabilities

The SD132 is equipped with advanced features such as a side garage capable of housing a 6.25-meter tender and additional hangar space for water toys or rescue boats. Its range of 3,200 nautical miles ensures it is well-suited for transoceanic journeys, embodying the resilience and versatility for which Sanlorenzo is renowned.

An Exceptional Market Debut

Before its launch, the SD132 had already captured the market’s attention, securing five contracts—a testament to the demand for this innovative design. Tommaso Vincenzi, President of Sanlorenzo’s Yacht Business Unit, expressed his excitement:
“The SD132 is a culmination of innovation, elegance, and performance, and its immediate market success validates our vision.”

Sanlorenzo’s SD132 redefines what is possible in semi-displacement yachts, seamlessly merging innovative design with timeless elegance. With its remarkable volume, intelligent use of asymmetry, and commitment to sustainability, this flagship yacht sets a new standard for luxury yachting.
