The Fédération des Entreprises Monégasques (FEDEM) has officially announced the appointment of Bernard d’Alessandri as President of the Chambre Monégasque du Yachting, the institutional body that represents Monaco’s yachting companies before government authorities. The chamber plays a central role in defending, promoting, and developing the interests of a sector that has become one of the pillars of Monaco’s economy.
Founded in 1945, FEDEM unites and represents all professional trade associations in the Principality and serves as a key interface between the business community and public authorities. Its goal is to support competitiveness, sustainable development, and long-term strategic growth across all industries.
“Yachting represents a strategic economic activity for the Principality, one that generates annual revenues of nearly €600 million and employs 1,500 skilled professionals,” stated FEDEM President Philippe Ortelli. “It is therefore essential that the sector is fully represented to defend its interests, promote its values and support sustainable development.”
A Global Ambassador for Monaco and Yachting
A leading figure in the international yachting world, Bernard d’Alessandri has served as General Secretary and Managing Director of the Yacht Club de Monaco since 1990. His vision has been instrumental in positioning Monaco as a reference for maritime innovation, sustainability, and excellence.
Over the past decades, he has spearheaded world-renowned initiatives including:
- Monaco Classic Week – La Belle Classe
- Monaco Energy Boat Challenge
- Superyacht Eco Association (SEA Index®)
He also chairs the Cluster Yachting Monaco, which federates more than 100 companies in the sector, and leads the “Monaco, Capital of Yachting” commission, dedicated to economic development and long-term strategic planning.
These roles reflect his dedication to fostering collaboration between industrial, technical, and institutional players to strengthen sustainability and innovation across the industry.
“My commitments have always been guided by my passion for the sea and yachting,” said Bernard d’Alessandri. “Through this new position, I hope my experience can benefit a sector that is one of Monaco’s greatest strengths. The Principality occupies a unique place in the yachting world — a model of excellence, innovation and sustainability that we live every day at the Yacht Club de Monaco.”
Strengthening Monaco’s Vision for the Future of Yachting
