Austin joined American Magic as a cyclor, bringing an extraordinary blend of engineering expertise, athletic prowess, and unyielding determination to the team. A graduate of the University of Washington and a national champion rower, Austin exemplified dedication, resilience, and teamwork. His journey to the pinnacle of the sport in the America’s Cup demonstrated not only his remarkable abilities but also his unwavering commitment to excellence.
In his role with the team, Austin played a crucial part in the 37th America’s Cup campaign in Barcelona, working tirelessly to help American Magic achieve its goals. His contributions went far beyond his physical strength; Austin was a pillar of inspiration, whose kindness and humility touched everyone he encountered.
