United States SailGP Team Unveils ‘Liberty Marine’ F50 Livery and Updated Roster Ahead of 2025 Season

The United States SailGP Team has revealed the newest edition of the U.S. team’s F50 influenced by an iconic American symbol, the Statue of Liberty, showcasing the team’s commitment to inspiring a new generation of American dreamers and athletes.

This announcement comes alongside the signing of Hans Henken who recently won a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Team USA’s first sailing Olympic medal-winning performance since Rio in 2016.

As part of the updated livery, the team now boasts an F50 that features the ‘Liberty Marine’ colorway with the team’s partners prominently displayed including T-Mobile, Tommy Hilfiger, Apex Group, and Red Bull. The F50 livery draws inspiration from the imagery and color scheme of the Statue of Liberty, offering a fresh and adapted look for a team representing the United States.

As part of the rebrand, the U.S. team will have new uniforms to match the look and feel of the team, including custom Red Bull helmets. The team’s helmets were designed based on a simple request: “create the coolest helmets a Red Bull team has ever worn”. Along with the unmistakable Red Bull logo, highlights of the new helmets include candied paint elements, chrome finishes, ghosted Americana detailing, and features ‘Liberty Marine’ stripes to mirror the new livery design.

“The Statue of Liberty is a legendary American landmark, representing hope, freedom, and opportunity,” said Mike Buckley, 2x World Champion Sailor, U.S. SailGP Team CEO, and Co-Owner. “Drawing inspiration from this iconic symbol was important to us in our creative process, as we want to be an example that inspires a new generation of dreamers and brings a more diverse range of people into the world of sailing. Just like Lady Liberty did in New York Harbor all those years ago.”

Additionally, the U.S. SailGP Team announced the active roster including 2024 Olympic bronze-medalist sailor Hans Henken. With the addition of Henken, the U.S. SailGP Team roster now boasts a combined 15 World Championships, 2 Olympians, and an Olympic Bronze Medal. The team is proud to have a fully American roster racing under the U.S. flag.

2025 Season // Hans Henken rejoins the USA team in Dubai

“Winning an Olympic medal is one of the greatest achievements in all of sports. Hans showed the world that American sailors can, in fact, compete at the top of the sport. Hans brings experience and a veteran presence to our locker room. We are all looking forward to having a strong race in Dubai to kick off the season,” said Buckley.

“I’m excited to be rejoining the United States SailGP Team following my recent Olympic journey,” says U.S. SailGP Team member and Olympic Bronze Medalist Hans Henken. “Thank you to Mike and the team for welcoming me back to SailGP and giving me the opportunity to once again compete with and against the best athletes in the world. I’m looking forward to getting out on the water with my new teammates and putting in the work to get us to the top of this league.”

“There are two new teams on the starting line this year and some existing teams have largely new line ups.” says U.S. SailGP Team Head Coach Evan Aras. “We’ve chosen to focus on building momentum from last season by retaining the core of our roster and are excited to have Hans join our team.”
