Admiral GECO receives recognition as the quietest motor-yacht and RINA Comfort Class Award

Admiral GECO, a 55m yacht from The Italian Sea Group fleet, a global operator in luxury yachting, has received the award from RINA as the quietest superyacht of 2020 in the Comfort class, reaching the maximum score due to the absence of noise and vibrations on board.

This important recognition represents for The Italian Sea Group a further confirmation of the ever higher quality standards of its latest motoryachts.

“I am very satisfied to have achieved for the second time a record that makes us proud both in terms of design and production – comments Giovanni Costantino, Founder & CEO of The Italian Sea Group – Successes are never generated by just one person , but from an excellent synergy of skills which in this case have ensured a great result. I thank the RINA body for the impressive professionalism and commitment in helping us to achieve ambitious goals. “

“We have collaborated with the shipyard from the beginning to ensure that the M / Y Geco reaches the highest standards required by our regulations – says Paolo Moretti, CEO of RINA.

A result of silence, thanks to the reduction of noise and vibration, never reached before on a ship of this size. It was a very complex engineering operation, considering the choice of the best raw materials, the design with very advanced tools, the virtual simulation up to the construction that led to a certification of excellence. “

Developed internally by the R&D department of the company with the Art Director Gian Marco Campanino, the M / Y Geco, with its extremely attractive and innovative design, has obtained these results thanks to the in-depth analysis during the design phase by Rina consultants. , the executive design of the Technical Office and the construction capabilities of the Shipyard.

In particular, during construction, particular attention was paid to the installation of all on-board machinery and instruments, with reference to both the choice of position and the type of elastic anti-vibration supports. The detailed analysis of noise and vibrations through SEA and FEM calculations made it possible to optimize the insulation and distribution of the exhaust and numerous tests were carried out on board to verify the effective damping factor of the materials.

Particular attention was paid to the elimination of the noise of the lower deck in the condition at anchor and during night navigation, in order to ensure maximum comfort for all guests and crew. The ventilation and air conditioning systems have also been designed and built ad hoc with the aim of limiting noise and vibrations but at the same time guaranteeing the performance and the cooling / heating capacity necessary for all environments.
